WICED National at CodeComply Summit: Empowering Women in Code Enforcement and Development

The Women in Code Enforcement and Development (WICED) National Chapter is making a powerful impact at this year’s CodeComply Summit in California. As a leading organization dedicated to advancing women in the fields of code enforcement, construction, and development, WICED is bringing an essential conversation to the summit; one that addresses the unique challenges women face in a male-dominated industry while providing strategies for success, mentorship, and professional growth.

Led by the WICED Executive Board, this panel discussion will offer an invaluable opportunity for attendees to gain insights from industry leaders who have navigated the complexities of leadership, professional development, and workplace dynamics. The WICED track has many state chapters participating and teaching much needed technical skills now get to meet the individuals at the national level promoting and advocating for women in our industry.

Meet the WICED National Leadership Team

The WICED National Board consists of seasoned professionals who have committed their careers to advancing and supporting women in code enforcement and development:

These dynamic leaders will take the stage to share their experiences, offer mentorship, and provide practical advice to help women advance in their careers while promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the industry.

This powerful panel will dive into the realities of being a woman in code enforcement, construction, and development. Women in these fields often face biases, stereotypes, and challenges in asserting authority but they are also breaking barriers and leading the way for the next generation. This discussion will cover career growth, workplace resilience, mentorship, and advocacy for diversity in the industry.

Key Talking Points:

1. Overcoming Challenges & Biases

2. Career Growth & Advancement

3. Building a Support Network

4. Work-Life Balance & Mental Resilience

5.  Encouraging more women to enter and thrive in code enforcement

Representation matters. Women in code enforcement, construction, and development are leading change, but challenges remain. This panel is an opportunity to hear directly from those who have paved the way, fought for leadership roles, and are mentoring the next generation of women in the field. Whether you’re an experienced professional, new to the industry, or simply looking to support women in your workplace, this session is designed to provide tools, insights, and a community of support.

This is more than just a discussion—it’s a movement. WICED National is committed to continuing the work of advancing women in code enforcement through training, mentorship, and advocacy. Attendees will be encouraged to get involved with WICED initiatives, build their professional networks, and take advantage of mentorship opportunities that will help them grow in their careers.

Join us at the CodeComply Summit and be part of a powerful conversation that is shaping the future of our industry. Women in code enforcement and development belong in leadership, and WICED is here to ensure they get there.
